ICCO has a number of carefully chosen partners: the leading providers of services to the PR industry, as well as foremost industry experts with whom we collaborate on research and events.

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) works in about 170 countries and territories, helping to eradicate poverty, reduce inequalities and exclusion, and build resilience so countries can sustain progress. As the UN’s development agency, UNDP plays a critical role in helping countries achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

ICCO has always sought to align with the foremost international institutions that share ICCO’s values of free media and ethical PR, as well as driving forward issues important to our members including ESG and purpose. Our official partnership with UNDP, signed in November 2023 is a significant recognition from UNDP of the central role PR and Comms expertise will play in achieving their goals. In turn it is a recognition from ICCO members, of the power we have to cause real change.

UNDP is the largest United Nations agency leading the fight against climate change with 6000 projects across 170 countries. ICCO is a federation of national and international PR membership bodies, with over 3000 agency members across 82 countries.

ICCO is an expert advisor to the Council of Europe

The Council of Europe is an international organisation whose stated aim is to uphold human rights, democracy and the rule of law in Europe. Founded in 1949, it has 47 member states, with a population of approximately 820 million, and operates with an annual budget of approximately 500 million euros.

The organisation is distinct from the 27-nation European Union (EU), although it is sometimes confused with it, partly because the EU has adopted the original European Flag which was created by the Council of Europe in 1955, as well as the European Anthem. No country has ever joined the EU without first belonging to the Council of Europe. The Council of Europe is an official United Nations Observer.
