ICCO LEADERSHIP ELECTIONS 2025

As we approach the upcoming leadership transitions within ICCO, we are pleased to share details regarding the nomination process and key responsibilities for the following positions: Supervisory Board members, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Regional Presidents.

Please note that all of the above-mentioned positions are voluntary in nature and are not compensated. They do not involve any form of employment contract or entitlement to salary or benefits (ie travel and other expenses).

We encourage you to carefully review the criteria and timelines outlined below.

SUPERVISORY BOARD MEMBERS

Position Overview and Responsibilities

The Supervisory Board (SB) is a new body to be established. The Board of min. 3 and max. 5 officers will be responsible for overseeing the operations of ICCO. Reporting directly to the Board of Members (BoM), the SB ensures adherence to bylaws, codexes, guidelines, and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities:

● Serve as a member of the Supervisory Board, attending BoM meetings and contributing to strategic decisions.

● Supervising election process

● Provide updates to the BoM on ICCO operations (admin and professional work).

● Oversee budget allocation and ensure financial resources align with priorities.

● Ensure quality and compliance of bylaws, codexes, guidelines, and the substantive value of the work of ICCO bodies.

● Serve a two-year term, with possible reappointment once.

This position will begin in June 2025, and the term will continue through to June 2027.

Election timeline:

– Submission open: 1 March – 30 April 2025

– Eligibility assessment & online voting period: 26 May 2025

– Announcement and the inauguration of the term: Board of Members Meeting – 17 June 2025

VICE PRESIDENT

Position Overview and Terms

Vice-President will serve as the designated successor to the President. The successful candidate will begin their term as Vice-President at the 2025 Board Meeting in Mumbai (during the ICCO Global Summit 2025) and will transition to the position of President in the Autumn of 2027 for a two-year term.

Key Responsibilities:

Board and Executive Committee Membership: Serve as a full ExCo member, attending two Board meetings annually, with one aligning with the annual summit.

Presidential Succession: Assume the powers and duties of the President in their absence or inability to perform outlined responsibilities.

Legal Representation: Be a registered Board director at Companies House (or an equivalent body) as the official representative of ICCO.

This position will begin in November 2025, and the term will continue through to October 2027.

TREASURER

Position Overview and Responsibilities

Treasurer will focus on overseeing all financial aspects of ICCO. The Treasurer is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial operations, working closely with the CEO and the Finance Manager to uphold the organisation’s fiscal health. Treasurer preferably should be an existing Board member.

Key responsibilities:

Board and Executive Committee Membership: Serve as a full ExCo member, attending two Board meetings annually, with one aligning with the annual summit.

Legal Representation: Be a registered Board director at Companies House (or an equivalent body) as the official representative of ICCO.

● Overseeing budget planning and cash flow management (monthly meeting with CEO and finance manager)

● Ensuring the accuracy of financial accounts and records.

● Managing the deposit and disbursement of ICCO’s funds in accordance with the Board’s directives.

● Reporting financial audits as required by the President.

Serve a two-year term, with possible reappointment once.

This position will begin in November 2025, and the term will continue through to October 2027.

REGIONAL PRESIDENTS

Position Overview and Responsibilities

As part of ICCO’s global structure, we have six Regional Groups: Africa, Latin America, North America, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East. Each Regional Group will elect a Regional President. ICCO member associations are invited to nominate candidates from their respective regions. These candidates will then be elected as the regional representative through a majority vote of the regional members. Nominations and voting are restricted to members within each respective region.

Key Responsibilities:

Board and Executive Committee Membership: Serve as a full ExCo member, attending two Board meetings annually, with one aligning with the annual summit.

● Organising events (regional forums, online and/or in-person) in their region

● Promoting best practices among members

advocating for centrally-developed materials within their region

● Serve a two-year term, with possible reappointment once.

This position will begin in November 2025, and the term will continue through to October 2027.

NOMINATION PROCESS

– Only national associations can nominate a candidate.

– The nominee needs to provide proof of at least 2 recommendations by other members.

– Eligibility: Candidates do not need to be current board members or association members but must have a strong understanding of ICCO’s structure and operations.

– Submission Requirements: Nominees are required to submit the proof of minimum two recommendations, a bio, photo, and a supporting material serving as the motivational letter and/or proposal (e.g., video essay of maximum 2 minutes, and/or slide deck of maximum 10 slides, and/or a document of maximum 500 words).

– National associations will have voting right (one vote per association)

Elections timeline (Vice-President, Treasurer, and Regional Presidents):

– Submission open: 1 July – 31 August 2025

– Eligibility assessment & online voting period: 29 September 2025

– Announcement and the inauguration of the term: Annual General Meeting – 11 November 2025
