The PR World Cup is a public relations, creative pitch competition that gives rising PR professionals from around the world a platform to exercise and showcase excellence through powerful PR and Communications work.

Competition begins: 30th October
Deadline for teams to submit materials (Deck & Video): 1st November
Judging period: 2nd November to 6th November
Winners announced: 12pm GMT, 10th November, (virtual)

Instructions
In teams of two, participants must work to invent a PR campaign that demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of a brief which will be set by a chosen NGO (TBA) and meets all their detailed requirements. Campaigns will be submitted to a list of international judges who will, using a scoring system, select a winning campaign.

Qualification
The PR World Cup is a global competition. To qualify to compete, participants must have either won national/ regional PR World Cup rounds or have been nominated by a national/ regional association through existing competitions and other merits. (If you manage a local or regional association and are running a PR World Cup competition, please let us know.)

Entry criteria
– Both team members must be 35-years-old or younger as of 1st June 2023.
– Agency, in-house, and freelance professionals are all welcome to compete (no restrictions, also team members do not need to be from the same organisation).
– All teams must be made up of two people

Final Competition, 30th October – 1st November

– National and Regional PR associations are only allowed to submit one team
– Finalists will be given a detailed brief, set by a global NGO.
– Teams must submit a deck of no more than 10 slides by the stated deadline. Included in the deck must be a 150 word summary of your creative campaign idea.
– Teams must submit a 3-5 minute-long video explaining their creative campaign idea to deliver the brief. Your video must include details about the approach, strategy and execution of your team’s idea. See “The World Cup Submission” below.
– Deadline to enter into the Global PR World Cup is October 26th, 2023

National Competitions are running from 1st July to 20th October

Competition Format
All finalists will be given a brief by an NGO. The competition will run as detailed above, with the brief distributed on 7th November and video submitted by 10th November. Using a scoring system based on a set criteria, the judging panel will determine the winning team, i.e., the team with the highest score.

The World Cup Submission

– Video file submitted (5 minutes maximum)
– Deck of maximum 10 slides
– Describe the creative idea, potential for industry impact, the strategy, execution, and timescales.
– Aim to satisfy all requirements of the detailed brief written by the globally recognised NGO.

Prize
– Opportunity to present at ICCO Global Summit (2024) with travel and accommodation covered by the ICCO.
– Winner’s trophy
– Opportunity to discuss implementation of the idea with the NGO.
– All finalists join exclusive ‘Global PR Youth Board’ within ICCO.
